Meet the Current Research Students
Michael Arik (Summer 2022-Current) Je suis un Junior who’s looking to major in biochemistry. Mi plan para el futuro, es entrar en el campo de la medicina. Yes I do speak multiple languages to be more specific four. My research mainly focuses on synthesis of Fluorinated Block Polymer via controlled radical polymerization. During my free time I enjoy to go to vacations, travel, and I’m deeply into sports.
Arya Patel (Spring 2023-Current) I am a sophomore majoring in biochemistry. My project aims to synthesize sequence controlled peptide based polymer with the inspiration of silk protein. In my free time I enjoy reading, playing tennis, and spending time with friends and family.
Sadifa Anjum (Spring 2023-Current) I am a sophomore majoring in chemistry. I will synthesize fluorinated block copolymer and employ that in PFAS elimination treatment from water. During my free time, I enjoy drawing and hanging out with friends and family.
Nyalah Abasali (Fall 2023-Current) I am a senior majoring in chemistry. I'm excited to be part of Sarkar research group and to broaden my knowledge of polymerization in monomer/polymer synthesis and morphology analysis by microscopy technique, and more as I plan on pursuing a career in cosmetics. During my free time, I like to explore cosmetics, read, and spend time with friends and family.
Daury Willians (Spring 2024-Current) I am a junior majoring in biology. I'm ecstatic to be a member of the Sarkar Research Group; my research aims to synthesize a next-generation Nylon-like polymer. During my free time, I enjoy going on vacations and spending time with my friends and family.
Daniel Rivero (Spring 2024-Current) I am a Biochemistry major, I will synthesize next-generation Nylon like polymer. In my free time I enjoy going to the gym and spending time with my friends and family.
Nicole Paccha (Summer 2024) I am a junior majoring in biology who will help synthesize distribution-defined polymers. I am excited to be part of this research and hope to expand my lab research experience. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, reading, and spending time with my family.
Urja Saha (Summer 2024) I am a rising senior at John P. Stevens High School, passionate about computer science and biochemical engineering. One of my career goals is to develop AI software to help with the environment. This summer, I am getting familiarized with polymer synthesis. In my free time, I am an avid singer, and I also love to read, travel, and learn new languages.
Abhinav De (Summer 2024) I am a rising junior at Tenafly High School and am passionate about chemical engineering. This summer, I will try to imaging polymer surface via Atomic Force Microscopy. In my free time, I like to play soccer and enjoy playing video games. .
